KUALA LUMPUR, April 13 — AmBank (M) Bhd aims to increase its digital banking customer base to one million by end of this year from 500,000 existing customers as of March this year, its Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Sulaiman Mohd Tahir said today.
Sulaiman said the targeted number of customer base is in conjunction with an official launch of its internet banking platform dubbed the all-new AmOnline.
“The launch of our new online banking platform is aimed to intensify digital banking experience and services to our customer,” he said during the press conference.
He said, since the soft-launch back in October 2017, the number of the customers grew by 42 per cent as at March, 2018.
“Currently, we have 500, 000 customers using the AmOnline banking platform and the number of customers signing has tripled since the past months,” he said.
The number of daily users for AmOnline has gone from 500 in its initial stage to 1, 500 as to date, he said.
He revealed that the transaction value count per month is RM900 million and expected to double by year end.
“The AmOnIine is to create the best e-commerce like experience of banking, to allow customers to invest, gain access to financing and fulfil their end to end financial needs entirely online,” he said.
He said the new online offerings are analytics-backed to deliver an individually personalised and proactive experience of the right offer at the right time.
“We will pass through the reduced cost to serve in terms of better rates online to our customers,” he said.
Transacting features include funds transfer, bill payments and JomPay, prepaid mobile top-ups, credit card and loan payments, foreign remittances, eFixed Deposits and more, within a minimalistic design to get the job done in just a few clicks.
The all-new AmOnIine is the first online banking platform In Malaysia to be equipped with a multI-lingual option, (In English, Bahasa Melayu and Chinese) which caters to the diverse background of customers.
