No medals for Malaysia in men’s 1m springboard

BRISBANE, April 11 — National men’s divers came out empty handed in the 1m springboard at the 2018 Commonwealth Games today.

However, Muhammad Syafiq Puteh emerged as the best national diver after finishing in the fifth place out of 12 competitors.

In the event at Optus Aquatic Centre, Muhammad Syafiq, 23, accumulated 378.90 points after six jumps.

Ahmad Amsyar Azman was in the sixth spot with 369.40 points while Ooi Tze Liang came out 11th with 319.00 points.

Jack Laugher of England defended his gold medal with 438.00 points followed by host diver James Connor with 412.45 points for the silver and the bronze went to James Heatly of Scotland who collected 399.25 points. — Bernama
