KUALA LUMPUR, April 10 — Parti Amanah Negara president Mohamad Sabu will be leading his party’s fight to keep Selangor for the Pakatan Harapan (PH) pact in GE14.
An unnamed source said Mohamad, popularly called Mat Sabu, will contest in Kota Raja, the parliamentary seat currently occupied by his party colleague Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud, The Star reported today.
“The announcement of his candidacy will be made in the next few days,” the source was quoted saying.
The source did not reveal where Dr Siti Mariah would be fielded.
Mohamad was previously speculated to make a run for the Taman Templer state seat.
Apart from Kota Raja, the other two Selangor parliamentary seats under Amanah’s belt are Shah Alam won by Khalid Samad and Sepang, won by Hanipa Maidin.
Amanah’s two state seats are Hulu Kelang, held by Saari Sungib and Morib, held by Hasnul Baharuddin.
The party is targeting to take five Selangor parliamentary seats and 12 or 13 out of the 56 state seats in GE14.
