Melaka to dissolve state assembly tomorrow

MELAKA, April 6 — The Melaka state assembly will be dissolved tomorrow for the 14th general election.

Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron said he had met with the Yang Dipertua Negeri of Melaka Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakob today to inform about the dissolution of the State Assembly.

“The Yang Dipertua Negeri Melaka (Mohd Khalil) has signed the declaration of dissolution to allow the 13th Melaka State Assembly to be dissolved on April 7, 2018.

“The declaration of dissolution will be handed over to the state Election Commission at 9.30 am tomorrow, at Seri Bendahara (Ayer Keroh here),” he told a press conference here today.

Melaka has 28 state seats and six parliamentary seats. — Bernama
