SELAMA, Feb 28 ― A 49-year-old man is under a five-day remand after police found RM300,000 worth of drugs stashed in a car he was driving.
District police chief Deputy Superintendent Loo Lian Lay said police approached a Honda Accord parked in front of a three-storey building at Jalan Terap Indah 1, Sungai Terap here at about 6.35pm yesterday, based on a public tip-off.
“A check in the car yielded two blocks of heroin base weighing 900gm and 1kg of heroin,” he said in a statement here today.
Initial investigations showed the suspect had obtained the drugs from a man in Jelutong, Penang.
“The suspect had no previous records and his urine tested negative for drugs,” Loo said.
The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for trafficking.
