Neelofa’s turbans sold out after nightclub launch

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 — Celebrity entrepreneur Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor has sold out her new turban line in less than 24 hours after launching it at a nightclub here last night.

All 45 colours of the “Be Lofa Turban” range featured in her online store, which is priced at RM73 each for West Malaysia, RM75 for East Malaysia and SG$36 for Brunei and Singapore, were recorded as having sold out.

Neelofa, who turned 29 yesterday, celebrated her birthday with the release of her latest Be Lofa range that comprised “Be Lofa Turban” and headscarf range, “Be Lofa Shawl”. The “Be Lofa Shawl” was not retailed online.

The launch event was held at Zouk Kuala Lumpur that regularly hosts product launches, especially in the beauty and fashion industry.

Some Muslims and conservative Muslim group Isma had attacked Neelofa for holding her product launch in Zouk, with the latter shrugging off the criticism.

“I made the decision to ignore public criticism regarding any issue, what is important I know what is being done,” Neelofa was quoted saying by BH Online.

The owner of multi-million ringgit headscarf brand Naelofar Hijab, said the venue was chosen based on the budget and theme of the event.

“This will never end if I continue to respond to netizen’s anger. So this year, I choose not to take seriously what others say,” she added.
