LOS ANGELES, Feb 15 — Judy Greer has joined the cast of comedy series Kidding, coming this year to US cable network Showtime, reports Variety. The American actress — who currently stars in The 15:17 to Paris — joins Jim Carrey, who takes the lead in the series directed by Michel Gondry.
Created by Weeds producer Dave Holstein, Kidding follows Jeff, played by Jim Carrey, a former children’s TV star with a multimillion dollar branding empire. Accustomed to success, the one-time Mr Pickles of kids’ TV finds himself facing a destructive family crisis.
A symbol of kindness and wisdom to the kids and parents who grew up with his TV persona, Jeff has to navigate the crisis instigated by his ex-wife, his two sons, his sister and his father.
Judy Greer, playing ex-wife Jill, joins Jim Carrey, who signed up to the role of Jeff last September. Catherine Keener (Get Out) and Frank Langella (The Americans) are also on the cast.
Comprising 10 half-hour episodes, Kidding reunites Jim Carrey with French director Michel Gondry. The pair previously worked together on 2004 movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which won Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars.
A familiar face on TV (Two and a Half Men, Arrested Development, Californication), Judy Greer currently stars in Clint Eastwood’s movie The 15:17 to Paris. Other big-screen appearances for the actress in 2018 include Ant-Man and the Wasp (July 6), Richard Linklater’s Where’d You Go, Bernadette and Halloween with Jamie Lee Curtis. — AFP-Relaxnews
