KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 14 ― Police will be investigating the content of a video depicting badminton ace Datuk Lee Chong Wei having sex with an unknown woman that went viral on Monday.
Federal Commercial Crime Investigations Department director Commissioner Datuk Amar Singh said the case is being investigated under Section 233 of the Multimedia Act for improper use of network facilities/services and for defamation.
“He requested for our assistance in finding out the culprit involved in the circulation of the tape,” he said today.
Lee went to the federal headquarters yesterday at 3pm to lodge a police report on the matter.
He denied the allegations and claimed it could be the work of certain people looking to see him fall in light of his upcoming movie.
The life of the three-time Olympic Games silver medallist will be shown in the biopic Lee Chong Wei: Rise of the Legend, that will be hitting the cinemas next month.
