NEW YORK, Feb 13 — KFC has gone and created scratch and sniff Valentine’s Day cards that carry the waft of finger lickin’ fried chicken along with punny pledges of love.
“I fell in love the first moment I slaw you,” reads one of the four retro-inspired V-day cards.
“You have the secret recipe to my heart,” reads another.
The cards also come with fried chicken scratch ‘n’ stiff patches and feature the dashing, moustachioed Colonel Sanders.
Less of a paper, more of a virtual couple? There are also animated KFC valentines in the form of GIFs that can be integrated into Facebook, Whatsapp and Twitter.
Meanwhile, a Valentine’s Day promotion from Domino’s Pizza could be of interest for homebody couples on a budget — or spurned singletons looking for a little cheesy solace.
Happily single? The V-day offer would also make for a cheap party: Large, two-topping pizzas are US$5.99 (RM23.60) valid for carry-out orders until Feb 18.
Last week, McDonald’s launched a Twitter contest for the “Bling Mac,” a seven-layered, ring bedazzled with white diamonds, orange and green sapphires, all encrusted in 18k gold worth US$12,500. The single-most creative tweet will be deemed the winner.
The KFC cards come free with the purchase of a US$10 Chicken Share, a meal deal for two that includes fried chicken and chicken tenders or popcorn nuggets for two people. — AFP-Relaxnews
