Felda United demolish Penang 3-0 to top Premier League table

MARAN, Feb 12 — Felda United FC have retaken the lead in the Premier League after blasting Penang 3-0 at Tun Abdul Razak Stadium in Jengka here tonight.

The squad under coach B. Sathianathan opened the score in the 11th minute via Brazilian import Gilberto Valdenesio Fortunato with a powerful header after receiving a corner kick by Iain Ramsay.

Eight minutes later, the 30-year-old Brazilian striker doubled the score when the hosts were awarded a penalty after the ball touched the hand of Penang defender Ugochukwu Ukah in the penalty box.      

In the second half, the visitors were seen bouncing back with several attacks but The Fighters held on to their grounds.  

In the 84th minute, Felda United were on target again when substitute player, Christie Jayaseelan Devasagayam scored from inside penalty box.

Felda United are now heading the table after garnering nine points from three matches so far, followed by Sabah in the second place with seven points while Penang are in the seventh spot with three points. — Bernama
