JOHOR BARU, Feb 10 ― Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) chairman Tan Sri Shahrir Abdul Samad advised PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli to stop manipulating facts for his own interest.
He said Rafizi should to do his homework by checking related facts first, before making any statements or remarks on certain issues.
“Rafizi will find ways to spin any facts for his own interest and also for the Opposition,” Shahrir told the media after the launch of Jauhar Prihatin Parlimen Johor Baru in Kampung Bakar Batu here today.
Earlier, Shahrir was asked to comment on a statement by the Pandan MP that he knew about the dubious land deal involving Felda's land in Jalan Semarak, Kuala Lumpur.
It was reported that Rafizi said the land transactions, including registration and transfer of the land, was done in March 2017, and Shahrir was appointed as Felda chairman on January 1 last year.
“Yes, the transactions were done in March last year when I took over as chairman, but the sales agreement on the land was signed before that in November 2016,” he said, adding that Rafizi should refrain from making unverified claims just for the sake of gaining publicity.
