KUCHING, Feb 9 — Women, Welfare and Community Development minister Datuk Seri Rohani Karim is hospitalised following a normal fever and not because of chest pains, said her press secretary Kamarul Farid Kamaruddin.
He said Rohani is being treated at the Sarawak General Hospital and refuted claims that she was rushed to the hospital after experiencing chest pains.
“The statement purported to have come from her political secretary Saifuddin Matsah and senior secretary Reza Rizvy confirming that she was rushed to SGH is not true,” Kamarul said in a statement today.
Rohani, who was elected the deputy head of Parti Pesaka Bumiputra Bersatu (PBB) Women wing, was present at the opening of the Women and Youth’s 14th Triennial Delegates Convention in the morning, but was absent in the afternoon.
According to Perhimpunan Agung PBB 2018 Facebook account, Rohani was rushed to SGH after experiencing chest pains this afternoon.
Saifuddin confirmed the incident.
“Let us pray for her quick recovery,” Saifuddin said.
