KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 7 — Fujifilm Malaysia launched the X-A5 camera today, the latest in its X Series.

The camera is a follow-up to its previous X-A3, offering a lightweight 4K-video capable camera with retro styling and modern features.

With a 180-degree tilting touchscreen, it makes taking selfies as easy as with a smartphone with the added convenience of a microphone jack—something to appeal to vloggers.

The X-A5 comes with Fujifilm’s first motorised powerzoom lens: the XC15-45mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS PZ which offers optical image stabilisation alongside a 15mm focal length that will prove useful for wide-angle shots.

With a 24.2MP APS-C image sensor, phase-detection autofocus as well as wireless image transfers via Bluetooth, it offers a generous featureset in a compact body for a mid-range price.

Fujifilm Malaysia is offering two packages: the Early Bird package which comes with the 15-45mm kit lens, two 32GB SD cardsm and a leather case and strap and the Selfie Portrait package which comes with the kit lens and the XF23mm F2 R WR lens for RM3,998.

Present at today’s event was Fujifilm’s official X-A5 ambassador, national gymnast Farah Ann Abdul Hadi. Besides Farah Ann, Fujifilm Malaysia also engaged 20 social influencers as part of its campaign to promote the new X-A5.
