SETIA CITY, Feb 7 — Honda Malaysia introduced the new 2018 Honda Odyssey last night in conjunction with its media appreciation night at the Setia City Convention Centre.
Honda fans will be happy to note that the new 2018 Honda Odyssey is available at a very competitive price of RM254,800 (price on the road without insurance). The Odyssey comes as a fully imported unit (CBU), and Honda expects to sell 130 units a month.
The new Odyssey will be equipped with Honda’s latest “Sensing” technology, which has six main features — Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS).
The Honda Sensing was first introduced in 2017 with the Honda CR-V, followed by the Honda Accord. The Odyssey is the third model series to be equipped with Honda Sensing, with perhaps more models to follow later. Honda Sensing enhances the safety of the vehicle tremendously, a fact that will be appreciated by the users of the Odyssey, especially those with precious human cargo.
Safety rides rather high on Honda’s list where the Odyssey is concerned — in addition to Honda Sensing, other premium safety features include Multi-View Camera system that accords multiple views of the vehicle including a bird's eye view, a smart parking system that works for parallel parking and 90 degree parking, blind spot information, and most importantly for vehicles of this size, cross traffic monitoring which lets the driver know of a vehicle is approaching from the rear and sides when reversing out of a parking lot.
The new Odyssey comes with a host of great features, including power-sliding doors for easy ingress and egress, premium Captain Cradle seats with Ottoman, and bigger headrests, and seven seats.
Drive is to the front wheels only, while power is from a 2.4-litre engine form the Honda family. Three colours are available, platinum white pearl, premium twinkle black pearl, and super platinum metallic.
The new Odyssey is available at all Honda showrooms and first deliveries are expected in March 2018.
