NEW YORK, Nov 14 — Even by the turbo-charged standards of Silicon Valley, the three-day surge in the fortune of Anthony Wood has been meteoric.

The chief executive officer and founder of Roku Inc, a maker of home streaming devices, added US$652 million (RM2.73 billion) to his net worth since the company reported third-quarter results on Wednesday, giving the technology industry’s latest billionaire a US$1.07 billion fortune, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Shares of Roku have more than doubled since the earnings report, its first as a public company, as revenue and active users surged. The gains continued yesterday after Roku announced a nationwide discount on its streaming stick ahead of Black Friday, with the stock advancing 28 per cent to close at US$42.71.
