KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 13 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) today announced the leadership line-up for its Federal Territories (FT) chapter, to be led by DAP acting national chairman Tan Kok Wai.
Tan, who is Cheras MP, chaired the first ever Federal Territories PH meeting today, with his deputies being PKR’s Dr Idris Ahmad, DAP’s Fong Kui Lim, Parti Amanah Negara’s Dr Mohd Hatta Ramli, and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s (PPBM) Muhammad Suhaimi Yahya.
Datuk Seri Dr Edmund Santhara (PKR), Datuk Ahmad Termizi Mohd Jam (Amanah), Teresa Kok (DAP), and Zahid Arip (PPBM) were appointed vice-chairmen.
Meanwhile, DAP’s Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng will act as secretary while PKR’s Zahir Hassan as election director.
In a press conference announcing the line-up here, Tan said the coalition aims to contest all FT parliamentary seats in the next general elections, even if that invites three-corner battles.
“We are ready to face any three-corner battles, and win them,” he said.
Tan also ruled out extending any olive branch to former ally, Islamist party PAS, in FT.
“That won’t happen, because PAS is now friends with Umno. Umno is PAS, and vice versa,” he alleged.
In 2013, then Opposition pact Pakatan Rakyat won nine out of 11 seats in Kuala Lumpur, except Setiawangsa and Titiwangsa. None of the seats was won by PAS.
Barisan Nasional had won both the sole seats in Putrajaya and Labuan.
