KUALA LUMPUR, June 20 ― Users of the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP) and SPRINT Expressway will enjoy a discount of 60 sen and 20 sen, respectively, on the toll rate on Sunday in conjunction with Aidilfitri, said Lingkaran Trans Kota Sdn Bhd (LITRAK) CEO Sazally Saidi.
He said vehicles of all classes would benefit from the discount to be given between 12 am and 11.59pm on Sunday.
LITRAK would also give a 10 per cent discount on the toll rate for Class 1 vehicles on the Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS) on Sunday, he said to reporters here today.
Sazally said about 451,000 LDP and SPRINT Expressway users and 220,000 Class 1 vehicles using the KESAS Expressway are expected to benefit from the discount, which LITRAK had given annually since 2010.
“Between 2010 and 2016, almost RM10 million in toll subsidy was given to LDP, SPRINT and KESAS expressway users during every festive period in Malaysia,” he said.
Sazally also said that in conjunction with Aidilfitri, LITRAK, in collaboration with Proton, the Road Safety Department, Hong Leong Yamaha and Malaysia Motorcycle and Scooter Dealers Association (MMSDA), was carrying out a ‘Balik Kampung’ Road Safety Campaign for three days up to Thursday.
”LDP users can get a Proton car inspection on Wednesday from 10am to 4pm, and a motorcycle inspection by MMSDA and Hong Leong Yamaha from 10.30am to 1pm at the motorcycle lane of the LDP Petaling Jaya rest area (southbound/Sunway-Puchong),” he said. ― Bernama
