Sofia Coppola on making ‘The Beguiled’ from a female’s point of view (VIDEO)

LAS VEGAS, April 2 — Director Sofia Coppola has unveiled her remake of the classic Clint Eastwood movie The Beguiled at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

This time the story is told from the female’s point of view.

The original movie, about a Civil War soldier who finds himself trapped in a girls’ boarding school, was told from the man’s perspective.

This latest version of the Southern 1971 gothic tale stars Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, Ella Fanning and Colin Farrell.

The Beguiled, which Coppola not only directed but also wrote and co-produced, is due to be released in theatres on June 23, 2017. — Reuters
