PARIS, Nov 22 — A new report indicates that French-born, multiple Michelin-starred chef Alain Ducasse is in negotiations to acquire another Parisian restaurant, Lucas Carton.

Ducasse, whose 21 Michelin stars make him second only to Joël Robuchon (28 stars) in the culinary award’s history, is said to be in talks to buy Parisian restaurant Lucas Carton from its current owners.

The champagne-growing Vranken family has owned Lucas Carton since 1998 but Ducasse will add it to his own portfolio, according to French-language site atabla.com, which reports negotiations are underway.

One of Lucas Carton’s previous chefs, and one of France’s most famous, was Alain Senderens, who had renamed the restaurant after himself.

It reverted to its former name upon his retirement in 2014. — AFP-Relaxnews
