‘Wheelie’ lands despatch rider in court

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19 — A despatch rider was jailed for a day and fined RM5,500 by the Traffic Court today for a ‘wheelie’ act.

Magistrate Noorul Fhaiez Mohd Nayan ordered V. Joshua Inbaraj, 21, to serve the sentence beginning today, and an additional three months if he failed to pay the fine.

The court also suspended his driver’s license for two years.

Joshua was charged with riding a motorcycle in a reckless manner as to endanger his own life as well as those of other road users at Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman here, between 2.20 to 2.25am on Oct 23, last year.
