DPM attends Johor Umno Liaison Committee meeting

JOHOR BARU, Oct 18 — Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today took time off to attend the Johor Umno Liaison Committee meeting here.

Ahmad Zahid, who is also Umno vice-president but discharging the duties of deputy president, arrived at 8.15pm accompanied by Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and Johor Mentri Besar  Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, who is also State Umno Liaison chief.

The closed-door meeting which lasted about two hours was attended by 24 Johor Umno division chiefs. Two division chiefs were absent.

Also present was state Umno liaison secretary Datuk Md Jais Sarday.

Earlier, Ahmad Zahid, who is also Home Minister, had also opened the Johor

Skills Hub Development or Johor Skills at Johor Education Foundation College in Kota Tinggi.

The deputy prime minister is also scheduled to visit the Customs, Immigrations and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex at the Sultan Iskandar Building for a briefing on the Secured Automated Clearance System (MBIKE) and to witness its implementation tomorrow. — Bernama
