Pos Malaysia to launch definitive Johor stamp series

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 18 — Pos Malaysia Bhd will be issuing a Johor definitive stamp series themed ‘Garden Flowers’ on February 25.

Pos Malaysia group chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh said the initiative was to celebrate the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar’s coronation anniversary on March 23.

“The definitive collection is a follow-up to the issue in 2007 which featured the latest images of Sultan Ibrahim Ismail in a stamp collection,” he said in a statement here today.

Each sheet of stamps of the definitive series has 20 pieces of stamps in denominations of 10 sen (Lotus), 20 sen (French hydrangea), 30 sen (Red lilacs), 40 sen (Bougainvillea), 50 sen (Morning Glory) and 60 sen (Hibiscus).

Accompanying the definitive stamps, he said was a mini sheet which was produced in a set of six stamp block that would be sold at RM5.30 each.

“Members of the public can obtain the definitive series at any Pos Malaysia branches nationwide,” he told Bernama when contacted today.

Stamp collectors are encouraged to open a Standing Order Deposit Account (SODA) to be part of the SODA community by registering online at www.posonline.com.my to enjoy various special benefits as SODA members. — Bernama
