MARTINIQUE, Oct 15 — A Franco-Colombian naval operation led to the seizure of nearly US$30 million (RM97.995 million) worth of cocaine in international waters off Colombia, the French military said yesterday.

The raid, carried out early Saturday, resulted in the arrest of three men travelling in a speedboat in which the 595 kilos of cocaine was hidden, the French chief of staff said in Martinique, a French island in the Caribbean.

The smugglers were apprehended north of the Guajira peninsula.
