NEW DELHI, Aug 23 — The new device is powered by Tizen, Samsung’s own mobile OS.

Priced at the equivalent of US$68 (RM280), the new smartphone costs a little under the average mobile phone price in India. Called the Z2, the device is also the first Tizen-powered mobile to support 4G, according to technology source The Verge.

The mobile was created to pack in the most number of functions possible at a low price — and specially designed for the Indian market. With a 90-day free trial to try different entertainment apps, users also get 90 days of free access to video calling, on-demand movies and TV as well as a music streaming service.

Other interesting functions include a Data Saving mode allowing users to significantly compress data. — AFP-Relaxnews
