NEW YORK, July 7 — Despite its huge size and premium price tag, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is the single most popular Android OS handset in use around the globe.

The statistics come courtesy of benchmarking company AnTuTu and are generated from users testing the speed of their smartphone chips with AnTuTu’s tools.

Between January and June this year, the Note 5 is the most popular Android handset, accounting for 7.82 per cent of tests around the world. And the company has five handsets in all in the top 10. The Galaxy S6 (5.47 per cent) is second, the Galaxy S6 Edge third (3.41 per cent) and the Galaxy S7 is fourth (3.20 per cent).

With a 3.07 per cent market share, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is in fifth place. — AFP-Relaxnews
