SAN FRANCISCO, May 4 — Twitter is updating its app with a Connect tab that it hopes will strengthen its connection with users
Clicking on it will offer users a curated list of suggestions and recommendations that takes into account the people already being followed as well as things such as geographic location and what's currently making Twitter buzz.
In recent months Twitter has been under scrutiny for falling or stagnant active user figures and the update is designed to make it easier for new visitors to make the leap to active users and to keep current users engaged for longer.
Connect will become better at making recommendations over time as it gets to understand users' habits and preferences and it will also synch with his or her smartphone address book automatically tracking down people they know who have Twitter accounts. — AFP-Relaxnew
