SAN FRANCISCO, Jan 19 — If you own an iPhone 6s or an iPhone 6s Plus, you may have realised issues your battery.

And you weren’t just imagining it, Apple has admitted to a problem with the battery percentage display on the handsets and has promised that a fix is in the works.

Users have experienced the phone shutting down despite displaying a full battery, indicating signs of a bug that doesn’t update the phone’s battery meter.

In some cases, the smartphone’s battery life percentage icon that appears in the top right corner might be inaccurate because it freezes and fails to update.

A message posted on the company’s website says: “Apple is aware of this issue and is investigating the cause and a solution.”

The bug shows up when you change the time on your phone manually or move to a different time zone.

Until the bug is corrected through future software updates, Apple released a solution on its Support page that informs iPhone 6s users to first restart the smartphone and go to Settings > General > Date & Time and make sure that Set Automatically is turned on.

It’s likely that a software update could fix the issue with Apple already having pushed out iOS 9.3 to developers.
