SAN FRANCISCO, Feb 16 — The iconic black doctor’s bag could soon be replaced by the image of a smartphone with two sleek, compact attachments that are hard to identify as a stethoscope and touch-less thermometer.

What’s different is that you don’t have to be a doctor to obtain it — rather, it functions the doctor, providing guided check-ups on the app using information obtained from the stethoscope and thermometer.

Like a doctor, it keeps your medical records, giving you a timeline of your health using data on your vital signs to help identify trends.

It allows you to take your health — and that of your entire family — into your own hands and keep it there where it’s at the ready, eliminating the need to make an appointment or even a phone call to your primary care practitioner.

The app is integrated with Doctor On Demand, which enables video conferencing with a physician who can assess your heart and lung sounds this way.

It can be pre-ordered for US$109 (RM390) with delivery expected in July 2015.
