BRISBANE, April 6 — National track rider Mohd Azizulhasni Awang failed to clinch a podium finish in his favourite men’s keirin event at the 2018 Commonwealth Games today.

In the final at Anna Meares Velodrome, the 30-year-old cyclist finished in the sixth place.

The gold medal was won by Australian Matt Glaetzer and the silver went to Lewis Oliva of Wales while Edward Dawkins of New Zealand took the bronze.

Earlier, Mohd Azizulhasni made a flying start when he qualified for the second round after emerging first in Heat 1.

Other Malaysian riders, Muhammad Shah Firdaus Sahrom and Muhammad Fadhil Mohd Zonis failed to qualified to the next round.

With the defeat, the cycling squad have yet to deliver any medal for the Malaysian contingent. — Bernama
