JAKARTA, June 10 — Malaysian rider Mohamad Zamri Baba who was involved in an accident in Round Two of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship at the Sentul International Circuit in Indonesia is still in a coma but his condition is stable.
Mushashi Boon Siew Honda Racing Team manager Zulhelmi Ahmad when contacted by Bernama said doctors at the hospital had informed him that Zamri was responding positively to insertion of medication to his body.
Zamri Baba, 34, was transferred from the Pertamedika Sentul City Hospital in Bogor to the Siloam Karawaci Hospital in Tangerang near here on Monday and admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Zulhelmi said a team of specialists were monitoring Zamri Baba’s condition.
“If we want to bring him back to Kuala Lumpur, the hospital feels it would take at least two weeks since Zamri Baba’s condition is still critical although his condition is stable,” he said.
Zulhelmi said the Boon Siew Honda team management would absorb the medical bill for Zamri Baba and to bring nine family members, including his wife, mother and child to Jakarta.
Zamri Baba, 31, who rode for MuSASHi Boon Siew Honda Racing was hit by a rider after he had crashed onto the gravel bed during Round 2 of the 2015 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship.
He was immediately rushed to the hospital situated about 10 minutes from the circuit for medical attention. — Bernama
