lPETALING JAYA, Nov 26 -- Irene Cara, the singer who gained fame for singing and co-writing the 1980s hit song Flashdance...What a Feeling has died at age 63.
Her publicist, Judith A. Moose made the announcement in a Twitter post, saying that singer-actress-song writer died at her Florida home.
The cause of death is still unknown.

Cara's name was synonymous with popular music from the 80s, having released the ttle song, Flashdance...What A Feeling, for tjhe movie of the same name.
She won Oscar and Grammy awards for it.
It starred another 80s icon, Jeniffer Beals who played Alex, a welder by day and a sensual dancer at night, who dreams of being accepted into a famous dance school.
Cara gained fame for the movie Fame in 1980 where she acted in it and sang the title song Fame.
