KUALA LUMPUR, May 18 — Actor and director Datuk Farid Kamil revealed that he had been blacklisted by producers, which includes his payment being blocked due to his political views regarding the previous government.

“Since early January, my name has been pulled out and there are some who has not paid me in full even though the drama has already ended.

“The reason being I’ve been too vocal about our previous government and my court case is a continuation of what is happening,” he said to mStar.

Before this, the J Revolusi actor was outspoken on his Instagram account when he publicly showed his support towards Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who was then in favour of the opposition.

Earlier this year, Farid shocked the local entertainment industry when he was arrested for being disrespectful at a police station and tested positive for illegal drug use.

Farid, however, pleaded not guilty to inserting the THC (Tetrahydrocannibol) drug, which comes from cannabis, into his body.

On May 7, the Petaling Jaya Magistrate’s Court stated that the actor’s case would be postponed until the June 29 to allow Farid to undergo his knee surgery. — CinemaOnline
