LOS ANGELES, Feb 21 ― The Get Out director told The Hollywood Reporter that he plans to shoot his next movie this year. Indeed, the film’s release date has already been set for March 25, 2019.

After scoring success with his first full-length picture, Get Out, Jordan Peele is now one of Hollywood’s most hotly watched directors. While the media is busy linking him to various projects, notably for TV, the American filmmaker announced in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that he’s already working on his next movie.

The director is set to start shooting the film, which he is still writing, in 2018 for Universal, which has already set a US theatrical release date of March 25, 2019, for the project. As yet, there’s no word on a potential plot, and Jordan Peele isn’t giving much away for the time being. According to the filmmaker, his upcoming movie will be similar in tone to Get Out ― a combination of thriller, horror and action ― while also offering something different. “I’m just trying to entertain myself again,” explains the director.

Released last year with a budget of US$4.5 million (RM17.6 million), Get Out grossed US$255 million at the box-office. The movie is nominated for four Oscars at the 90th Academy Awards, held Sunday, March 4: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best Actor for Daniel Kaluuya.
