LOS ANGELES, Feb 7 — Further details have been revealed about the Frank Zappa hologram tour that is expected to launch later this year.

The hologram production company Eyellusion first revealed back in September that it was working with the Zappa Family Trust to create a show honouring the iconoclastic musician, who died in 1993.

Now, the company has announced the roster of musicians who will join the hologram tour, known as “The Bizarre World of Frank Zappa.”

Former Zappa players Ray White, Mike Keneally, Scott Thunes, Robert Martin and Joe “Vaultmeister” Travers will form the touring line-up, joined along the way by Steve Vai, Warren Cuccurullo, Ian Underwood, Vinnie Colaiuta, Napoleon Murphy Brock, Arthur Barrow, Ed Mann and others.

Eyellusion says the tour will focus on hours of never-before-seen Zappa footage from the early ‘70s. In particular, it will include footage that has been locked in a vault since 1974, when the artist transformed his Los Angeles rehearsal space into a sound stage and gave a performance seen only by camera operators who were there at the time.

“The Bizarre World of Frank Zappa” is expected to launch in late 2018, with dates and details to be announced in the coming months. — AFP-Relaxnews
