KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 24 — Action fantasy blockbuster Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds opened at number one in Malaysia last weekend, beating the previous top spot holder, Hollywood horror movie Insidious: The Last Key.

The South Korean movie entered cinemas nationwide on January 18 and successfully topped the Malaysia Weekend Box Office for January 18-21, 2018 on its opening weekend, despite going up against other equally hefty competitions such as the Chris Hemsworth-led 12 Strong and Matt Damon-starring Downsizing.

Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds, directed by Kim Yong-hwa (200 Pounds Beauty, Mr Go), stars Cha Tae-hyun as firefighter Kim Ja-hong.

Ja-hong is hailed as a paragon the moment he enters the afterlife and he is assisted by three guardians, Leader Kang-lim (Ha Jung-woo), Assistant Guardian Deok-choon (Kim Hyang-gi), and Security Specialist Hewonmak (Ju Ji-hoon), in his seven trials that will determine whether he is worthy of incarnation.
