LOS ANGELES, Nov 30 — Burlesque dancer, model and fashion designer Dita Von Teese has offered up a first taste of her debut LP with the lead single Rendez-Vous.

The slow pop track finds Von Teese singing in an airy French style. It was written, as was the full album, by French singer-songwriter Sébastien Tellier.

The album is slated for a February 2018 release on the French independent label Record Makers.

According to the label, the lyrics to Rendez-Vous were written by Tellier’s wife, Dean de La Richardière, who said the song “is about a woman taking control of her freedom, and of her hunger for pleasure. Imagine this woman gathered with two or three people in a hotel room in California, under the pink light of dawn, for some passionate stolen moments.”

Von Teese told Rolling Stone, which initially premiered the track, “I’ve recorded my voice for the burlesque soundtracks I’ve made for my shows, but I think this is very different. ...This album comes from a more vulnerable place, and ultimately, I think it’s a Sebastien Tellier album, with his distinctive style, and his perspective of who I am. My favourite song on the album is a duet between us, because for me, it’s a bit like living out a Serge Gainsbourg/Brigitte Bardot fantasy.”
