LOS ANGELES, July 4 — We’re not sure if Iggy Azalea is taking the idiom “keep your friends close and your enemies closer” to heart, but she has apparently announced a totally unexpected collaboration with former rival Azealia Banks.

The two women have been involved in a nasty feud for years with the public bearing witness to a lot of name-calling between both of them.

It looks like Azalea and Banks are ready to bury the hatchet by collaborating on Azalea’s upcoming album, Digital Distortion, set to be released later this year.

Azalea took to Twitter to announce the news, sharing this with her fans: “Public Service Announcement, Azealia is going to be on DD. We are collaborating. Burn your wigs now or preserve them in your freezer for release day.

“I don’t expect you guys to understand why I would collaborate with someone who has publicly said they hope I die.”

“This has been something extremely negative for so long, if there is a way to make it positive and also be creative together, I’m here for it.”

The collaboration follows a statement Azalea officially made on her Snapchat in June to end the beef with Azealia, in which she had said “I wish you had spoken to me before deciding I was out to get you when we first came on the scene.”
