KUALA LUMPUR, April 11 — After the success of Syamsul Yusof’s local horror film, Munafik, at cinemas — even becoming the fastest local movie to hit such high box office collection in a short amount of time — the sequel for the film is already in the works.

“Alhamdulillah, after the unexpected support received for Munafik, Syamsul has expressed his desire to work on Munafik 2, said the managing director of Skop Production, Datuk Yusof Haslam to Kosmo!

Datuk Yusof Haslam, who is also the father to the young director, has confirmed that the sequel will start filming by the end of the year.

Datuk Yusof also added that the box office victory has helped pacify the disappointment felt by Syamsul when his other film, KL Gangster 2 (2013), became the victim of piracy, affecting the box office collection of the said action film.
