SINGAPORE, March 16 — From the team that brought us Ah Boys to Men 3: Frogmen, comes a heartwarming drama by the name of Take 2.

Jack Neo, who directed the Ah Boys movie series, is set to serve as executive producer on the drama movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie, which tells the story of four ex-convicts, will be helmed by Ivan Ho, who previously co-wrote the third Ah Boys instalment and the two-part Long Long Time Ago with Neo.

With a budget of S$1 million (RM3 million), Take 2 will be jointly-produced by Neo's J Team Productions and mm2 Entertainment. It is one of the three titles unveiled by the latter recently at the Hong Kong Filmart.

The other two upcoming titles are horror movies Ibu and Ghost Net.

Ibu, directed by M. Rihan Halim (Banting), follows an eight-year-old girl who forms a friendship with a pontianak. The movie will be filmed and released in two different language versions, Malay and Mandarin.

Meanwhile Ghost Net, which has a budget of S$1.3 million, is a Hong Kong horror anthology to be directed by Wong Kwok Fai, Wong Kwok Keung and Patrick Yau.

Aside from working on Take 2, Neo has recently released his nostalgic movie Long Long Time Ago.

The first part of the movie was released in Singapore last month but will only open in Malaysia on March 31. — Cinema Online
