KUALA LUMPUR, March 15 — Local animation film BoBoiBoy the Movie continues to be successful at the cinemas after collecting RM8 million within 11 days of screening.

Produced by Animonsta Studios, the movie is now the highest grossing animation film in Malaysia.

Director Nizam Razak said that he was initially surprised when he found out about the film's box office performance, but he is grateful and proud of the film's achievement considering that it has to compete with other international animation movies like Zootopia and Kung Fu Panda 3.

"I was really surprised when I found out that the movie had become the highest grossing local animation movie," he said to Cinema Online.

He added that another factor that made BoBoiBoy The Movie such a great film is its entertaining plot which is well-suited for all ages.

"We've received tons of positive feedback from social media where most of them claim that they enjoyed watching the film. The film is not only well-received among children but also among parents."
