LOS ANGELES, Dec 18 — Jo Nesbo adaptation “The Snowman” is to arrive in cinemas from October 13, 2017, with Michael Fassbender, Rebecca Ferguson and Charlotte Gainsbourg starring.

Harry Hole is the main character, Nesbo’s abrasive, tenacious and troubled detective with a knack for piecing together the most deceptive of cases.

It’s the first Harry Hole story to get greenlit, with Nesbo having penned ten to date and recognised with a dozen awards and nominations as a result.

Speaking of prestige, Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee Michael Fassbender (“Steve Jobs,” “12 Years a Slave”) is in place as Hole, with the Golden Globe-nominated Ferguson as Katrine Bratt, a new member of his investigative team.

Ferguson played secret agent Ilsa Faust in “Mission: Impossible: Rogue Nation,” while frequent Lars von Trier collaborator Charlotte Gainsbourg has also been linked with the film.

Tomas Alfredson, who helmed horror movie “Let the Right One In” and thriller “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy,” is in the director’s chair, with production to get underway in January 2016. — AFP-Relaxnews
