SEOUL, Nov 19 — The 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) will feature a collaboration between all-girl K-pop group f(x) and British electronic pop duo Pet Shop Boys.
Director of this year’s show, Kim Ki Woong, made the announcement yesterday at a press conference in Seoul.
He said, “We considered which artist would best fit this year’s theme of TechArt. It was during that process that we chose the electronic music group Pet Shop Boys from among overseas artists.”
f(x) is a multi-national K-pop girl group comprising four members — Victoria, Luna, Amber and Krystal — that was formed by SM Entertainment in 2009.
Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe formed Pet Shop Boys in 1981 and have topped the music charts around the world with such hits as “West End Girls,” “What Have I Done to Deserve This,” and “Go West.”
This year’s MAMA will take place in Hong Kong on December 2 at the AsiaWorld-Expo.
