KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 13 — It looks like they weren’t just rumours: Renowned Malaysian songstress Datuk Siti Nurhaliza and her husband Datuk Seri Khalid Muhammad Jiwa are indeed expecting their first child together.

According to Utusan Malaysia, the 36-year-old singer is said to be two months pregnant and is expected to give birth in June or July next year. The news was apparently confirmed by a source close to the singer's family.

“Yup, it’s confirmed. Siti Nurhaliza is already pregnant. Her pregnancy is now into its sixth or eighth week,” said the source quoted by the news portal.

The acclaimed singer also reportedly won’t be attending the wedding function of her of stepson Asyraf Khalid which is set to take place tonight at Palembang.

This is apparently because “doctors have advised her against flying during the early stages of her pregnancy”.

Pregnancy rumours had surfaced earlier in the week after Siti uploaded a picture of a glass of goat’s milk mix with dates, a drink that is usually drunk by pregnant women due to its nutritious content.

Siti and her businessman husband, popularly known as Datuk K, tied the knot on August 21, 2006. Neither have confirmed nor denied speculation of the pregnancy.
