LOS ANGELES, Aug 21 — Rock veteran Jon Bon Jovi impressed more than just the Chinese with his cover of Teresa Teng’s 1970s classic love song, ‘The Moon Represents My Heart’, which he sung entirely in Mandarin.

In the clip released by Chinese video site Tudou, Bon Jovi is seen belting out Taiwanese pop star Teng’s classic with much gusto. Though his Mandarin pronunciation sounds studied, his emotional performance won praise from fans online yesterday.

The singer who heads to China in mid-September as part of his Bon Jovi Live! Tour, presented the recording as a ‘gift’ for fans celebrating the Chinese Valentine’s Day yesterday. He will also be making stops at Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Seoul.
