LOS ANGELES, Oct 21 — American singer-songwriter Sufjan Stevens is back in the Hype Machine's chart today, October 21 with a track he “found on an old hard drive,” and British psych rockers Toy appear in the chart with a track from their sophomore album.

Nearly a year after gaining buzz on The Hype Machine with his version of the US national anthem in honor of President Obama's re-election, quirky indie folk artist Stevens has just released “Take Me,” which he calls a “sloppy lo-fi demo.” Bloggers beg to differ: The 405 writes, “sloppy Sufjan is still way better than most people's 'A Game,'“ and Stereogumsays the track is “actually a gorgeously synthed-out six-minute sigh of a song with some Steve Reich infinite-repeat piano action and perhaps the most languid vocal that Sufjan has ever recorded.”

Five-piece London group Toy is set to release a second album, “Join the Dots,” on December 9/10, just a bit more than a year since the band's self-titled debut, and the album's eight-minute title track has just been posted. The single will be out as a limited edition vinyl (300 copies) in the UK on October 21.

“Hold on tight, here come eight minutes of psychedelic rock epicness. ... If you are into fuzzy 70s influenced rock madness this might be your sound,” writes Nothing But Hope and Passion. “As ever with a TOY track there are these monumental sized instrumental sections which kick on just as you think they are coming to a close and create these dark, widescreen pieces of nervy, claustrophobic perfection. In a word — awesome,” reviews Just Music That I Like.
