KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 — Hong Leong Bank (HLB) and Hong Leong Islamic Bank (HLISB), which are now authorised agents for Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB) unit trust funds, will offer, beginning Friday, all 12 ASNB funds for public subscription.

They will comprise six fixed-priced funds and six variable-priced funds.

HLB and HLISB were appointed agents for ASNB unit trust funds following agreements signed between ASNB and HLISB on Dec 14, 2017, and HLB on Jan 5, 2018.

“Through this strategic collaboration with ASNB, we can now provide a more diversified range of investment offerings that can generate long-term, consistent and competitive returns to our customers,” said HLISB Chairman Datuk Dr Md Hamzah Md Kassim in a joint statement with ASNB today.

In line with their “Digital at Core’ vision, HLB and HLISB would also make online top-up available for ASNB fixed priced funds via Hong Leong Connect and the banks’ Internet-banking platform in the near future.

Permodalan Nasional Bhd Group Chairman Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar welcomed the appointments of the two banks as this would enable ASNB to reach out to more customers through the banks’ network.

“ASNB today manages 228.8 billion units in circulation, which is owned by over 13.3 million account holders. We are confident this collaboration will contribute to our growth.

“This initiative will increase the number of ASNB agents to 10 institutions with a network of 2,572 branches, nationwide,” he added. — Bernama
