KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 — Hong Leong Financial Group (HLFG) reported a higher net profit of RM761.5 million for the third quarter (Q3) ended March 31, 2018, up from RM627.33 million in the same quarter a year ago.

Revenue was also higher at RM1.39 billion from RM1.23 billion.

“The increase was mainly due to higher contribution from the commercial banking and insurance divisions,” HLFG said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

The group reported that Hong Leong Bank Bhd’s Q3 net profit was higher at RM690.03 million compared with RM569.54 million in the previous corresponding quarter, while revenue rose to RM1.26 billion from RM1.12 billion previously.

Meanwhile, Hong Leong Capital Bhd’s Q3 net profit fell to RM21.36 million from RM26.04 million.

“Hong Leong Capital’s revenue also declined to RM72.73 million from RM81.62 million,” HLFG said.

The financial group has proposed a second interim single tier dividend of 27 sen per share for the financial year ending June 30, 2018. — Bernama
