Yesterday, images and news about a pair of Russian couple Ivan Beerkus and Angela Nikolau, who climbed the Merdeka 118, spread like wildfire on online forum Reddit and other social media sites

The post reportedly showed a picture of the couple taking a selfie at the top of Merdeka 118, with Nikolau posting on Twitter that "no one has done it before - ever”.

The couple's daring act led Malaysians to question Merdeka 118's security measures.
