PETALING JAYA, May 22 — Police have arrested two suspects in separate incidents within an hour of them committing lewd acts against their victims, thanks to quick thinking by the public and police officers who prevented the duo from escaping.

Petaling Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zani Che Din said personnel from the Sea Park police station detained a 55-year-old suspect after receiving an alert from the public of an ongoing brawl at the SS2 night market around 8.55pm yesterday.

“When our personnel arrived, they saw the suspect struggling with several members of the public before a woman came over and claimed that the suspect had ejaculated on her back with visible stains on her hair earlier,” he said today.

The traumatised victim surnamed Lee, 20, said she felt someone splashing an unknown liquid on the back of her shirt while she was out walking with her sibling at the night market around 8.50pm.

“The victim then immediately alerted auxiliary policemen on duty after informing officers manning the information desk,” he said.

He said the victim and auxiliary policemen managed to locate the suspect passing through the lobby before making an arrest.
