KUALA LUMPUR, May 12 — Centre for Research, Advisory and Technology (CREATE) Chief Executive Officer Ng Yeen Seen said today that the newly-selected Cabinet members will contribute to the growth of SMI and SMEs in Malaysia.

She added that the appointment of the three Cabinet members was a balanced announcement that was not seen in the previous Barisan Nasional (BN) administration.

“It is unprecedented to see the appointment of a Chinese finance minister in Cabinet in a very long time. I am even more pleased to see eminent personalities like Robert Kuok, Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz to be appointed as advisors to the Government,” said Ng.

“We believe that the SMI and SMEs in Malaysia will now be officially guided by successful personalities. This is good for the development of the domestic economy.”

“We look forward to seeing new industries being created, and more quality jobs being created locally. Hopefully, this move will attract Malaysian talents residing overseas to return to serve and to build the nation,” she said.

Early this month, Ng was reported as saying that a Pakatan Harapan-led administration would see the return of crony capitalism, privatisation and other alarming economic decisions.
